My Handsome Son

Axel's Prom

I can hardly believe it, Axel's Senior Prom came and went. Today as I write this it is the last day of High School for Axel. I don't know how so many years have gone by so fast. I will try not to reminisce too much...hahaha ....

Anyway, Axel went to prom with his friend Emily Emmitt. They had a great time. Here are some pictures celebrating the moment.

Mothers Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. (I will tell all about my gifts later). On Saturday night Mike and I went on our date. We drove to Excelsior Springs with our bikes. We parked in a great barbecue restaurant and then went on to one of the most beautiful bike rides ever! Of course we rode back to the restaurant...Wabash Barbecue, and ate like kings!

Sunday morning I woke up to breakfast in bed. What a treat for a Mommy.
On Sunday after church guess where we went? Yes, you got it right! On a family HIKE! It was so beautiful. We went to the Parkville Nature Sanctuary. Even the big kids came, thank heaven for Mother's Day! This is such a terrific park. I think it is my favorite
so far. It even has a water fall. I LOVE WATER FALLS!!! My husband knows all the best places. Thank you darling! It just makes life so worth it to spend time with our children. I love each and every one of my six amazing kids. My family is my all! And my husband, Michael is the love of my life, he is my world. Thank you all for an incredible Mother's Day!!!!

Mothers Day and Birthday

I had a very interesting month so far. First came Mothers Day and then a few days later came my birthday. It seems so astonishing that I am little by little getting closer to the inevitable...the big 40... But not yet I say!!!! I was blessed with great gifts...clothes, I love clothes......if I were rich I have always said that I would fill a room full. I know, I know, very worldly of me....it is just a little indulgence, the dream of lots of clothes. Hahaha, Anyway, Thank you Mom, I love Kohls, it was great to hit the 60, 70, and 80% off rack!

Dad and Mom Mundy, thanks for the gift card....yup you guessed, I took a trip back to Kohls. It was fun to get some new things.

Axel wrote me the most heart felt card. It did my heart good to read his words and what he feels about his little mommy. Thank you my big son.

Areos, Ashly, Ben and Sam gave me one of the most wonderful gifts, lot's of hugs and kisses, little acts of service and all their love. Thank you my 4 younger ones!

Brandon also went and decided that he would invest some of his hard earned money on me. O received two pair of earrings. He gave me some beautiful church dresses also. Thanks Brandon, everyone at church thinks you must be terrific to buy me dresses that fit and are so perfect for me. Brandon also wrote me a very special poem for me. Here it is;

That mother of mine.

That mother of mine which I saw the first time I opened my eyes
The one who gently held me for the first time
My mother who taught me the truth from the lies
The one who brought to pass that light of mine
...
I love that mother who knew how to smile,
like the caring wind my soul touched each day
The mother that for me walked the extra mile
the one who loves me in every way

For this and for more forever grateful I am
Because I love that mother of mine.

Thank you Brandon, it is beautiful!

The last part of my wonderful week was spent with Michael. He was so sweet with one of those super cards that say it all so well. Then on Thursday I road up with the Stake to St. Louis to the Temple. I had a wonderful Temple day. My husband then came and picked me up and we spent a very special weekend together visiting Mike's work place, visiting different sights. I even got some very needed household items. Thank you Michael, you are more than wonderful!!!

Hiking after the park

Yes, it is a Mundy tradition. Hike, hike, hike we go..... We took the kids to Burr Oak Woods. They had gone with dad last weekend while I was at a service project. They are so sweet to want to share it with me.

I loved playing make believe with Sam. I found out that he can rub two sticks together and start a make believe fire, he even blew on it. We then roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. There he is with his roasting stick. (all make believe) It was awesome!!! and NO, Sam did not fall or almost fall, he was just being a ham.
The whole family is thrilled when Ashly is just adorable! And Ben is our daredevil!
Dad is my Hero though. He thought to bring the hammock he made. Looking up into the trees with all their leafs and being hugged by my kids....with the man I love smiling on....what more can a woman want? Heaven on earth I say!

Penguin Park

Another weekend of fun and games. We only had our little ones one night though so it was very hard to say goodbye. We had lunch at the park and guess what, Ben ate fried chicken... off the bone, yup, as well as macaroni and cheese and coleslaw. He had a hard time with the coleslaw but he had two big bite fulls. We are so pleased with his conquering his fears. Great job Ben!!!! Penguin Park was a blast!!!! Just check us out!

Seminary Graduation

Yes, Axel had his Seminary Graduation ceremony this last Sunday. I am a very proud mother! Michael and I were so happy to see him pass this stage in life and do so with honors. Axel not only graduated after 4 years of early morning seminary but he also received the Stake Presidents Award for Seminary Achievement. The requirements consisted of four parts;
  1. Scripture mastery: memorize 25 SM verses....with it's specifications
  2. Reading: Read the Book of Mormon , 200 consecutive days (10 minutes or more)
  3. Memorization: Current First Presidency; Current Quorum of 12 Apostles; The books of the Book of Mormon in order.
  4. 100% Attendance: Make up all absences
Axel accomplished all of this! Dad and Mom are so happy that he set forth such a great example for all his siblings. It is such a blessing as a parent to have such a wonderful son. Thank you Axel for being the son that you are and the man that I can admire.
